General Considerations For Returning To Practice
Massage therapy as a profession has been designated for inclusion in Phase III, of the New York State re-opening program,
and is currently scheduled to begin on:
Monday July 6, 2020
with the understanding the actual date will depend upon conditions present and criteria met at that time.
Appointments will be available only by scheduling directly with Neil, and priority will be given to existing clients who complete pre-appointment screening for COVID related symptoms.
Carnegie Hill Massage will be utilizing COVID-19 best practice recommendations from the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO), OSHA, guidance from and adherence to New York State and New York City mandates, guidance from the AMTA and related healthcare sectors, and findings from the limited and preliminary research on the virus to determine the actual date for re-opening and necessary protocols for safely doing so.
In the absence of a cure, vaccine, effective treatments, or other interventions for COVID-19, there is currently no path back to practice without revised protocols to protect both you as my client and myself as your therapist. Given the close nature of the work I perform, it is critical that I operate in a conservative manner for the well being of all, particularly those clients at higher risk for infection and complications from COVID-19.
The following pages detail those revisions as they currently stand. While many of these changes may feel awkward and limiting at first, we will work together to make them as seamless as possible.
