General Considerations For Working Safely

On May 19, 2021 New York State adopted The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's guidelines for fully vaccinated people.

With COVID -19 restrictions now being lifted, Carnegie Hill Massage Therapy continues to utilize COVID-19 best practice recommendations from the Centers For Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), OSHA, guidance from and adherence to New York State and New York City mandates, guidance from the AMTA and related healthcare sectors, and research findings on the virus to stay up to date on adapting necessary protocols for our continued safety in working together.

Given the close nature of the work performed in the course of a session at Carnegie Hill Massage, it is critical that we operate in a conservative manner for the well being of all, particularly those clients who remain at higher risk for infection and complications from COVID-19. If you are immunocompromised by way of age, illness, or treatment for any condition that increases your exposure risk, you will need to consult with your doctor before scheduling.

Since reopening in September 2020, Carnegie Hill Massage has booked and performed over 500 sessions while operating under strict safety protocols without a single instance of Covid transmission to report.

What does the lifting of Covid restrictions mean for receiving massage at Carnegie Hill Massage Therapy?

Vaccinated clients

If you have been fully vaccinated, you may remove your mask during your session if you choose to. You must show proof of vaccination via your vaccination card or your NYS Excelsior COVID-19 Vaccination Pass.

Unvaccinated clients

If you are not fully vaccinated for any reason, you must continue wearing a mask for the full  duration of your session.

Precautions Remaining In Effect

Reschedule your appointment if you feel ill, or have a fever, any respiratory or flu-like symptoms, shortness of breath, sore throat, dry cough,  extreme fatigue, diminished or lost sense of smell/taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19 or have been exposed to anyone with COVID symptoms or a positive diagnosis.

CHM will continue to perform pre and post session symptom checks when confirming your appointment, and temperature as well as blood oxygen levels will continue to be taken on arrival.

You'll arrive to a studio thoroughly disinfected with CDC approved hospital grade disinfectants as per CDC guidelines including floors, bathroom, and all touchable surfaces.

The entrance to my studio is direct, private, and touch free. Neither the entrance nor studio is shared with any other practitioners or client streams other than my own pre-screened client base. There is no waiting room or overlap of clients and the treatment room is thoroughly aired for at least 45 minutes prior to your appointment.

The air in the studio is continuously scrubbed with an FDA 510k Class II, cleared for medical use Molekule UV-C air purifier that uses photo electrochemical oxidation to capture and destroy 99.9% of bioaerosols like bacteria, viruses, and endospores. Whenever possible, we will also work with the windows open and studio exhaust fans engaged to ensure a continuous air exchange for the duration of your session.

All linens, towels, and blankets are professionally laundered in hot water with bleach and changed down to the disinfected table base and face cradle as has always been my practice.

Touchless payments via Chase QuickPay/Zelle or Venmo. I love cash, and checks bring back fond memories of my mom, but eliminating possible points of exposure is something we should do whenever possible.

Finally, thank you for coming, for your support through all of this, and your continued commitment to our therapeutic relationship.
